Principles of Light Microscopy Course – April 15th-19th 2024

The ABBE Imaging Facility at the Champalimaud Foundation, in partnership with the microscopy community of the Lisbon-Oeiras area and ZEISS, is excited to announce the inaugural Advanced Course on the Principles of Light Microscopy.

This course aims to equip participants with comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge of image formation and microscopy, covering everything from light sources to detectors. Through a blend of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on sessions, attendees will benefit from an innovative format that includes ten specialized instructors and ten microscopes available for the 20 participants throughout the week.

Participants will have the chance to delve into the optical elements, learning about their functions while actively tuning and aligning them with hands-on practice. The course is designed to cater to varying levels of expertise, accommodating those new to microscopy as well as individuals with prior experience. It aims to enhance participants’ understanding of both basic and advanced imaging techniques, including the principles of optical development. For more information, please follow this link.
