2nd – 4th October 2024 | GIMM | Oeiras
The course Basics on Advanced Microscopy is designed as a three-day practical workshop aimed at training core staff from bioimaging facilities and imaging enthusiasts who provide training to users and maintain microscopy instruments. The workshop will primarily focus on hands-on activities, starting with essential concepts at the beginning of each session. Participants will learn how to disassemble and reassemble the major components of compound microscopes, understand their operation, and explore topics such as illumination and light detection, non-diffraction-limited confocal imaging, clearing and expansion microscopy, and photomanipulation.
Additionally, the workshop will cover bioimage data processing and analysis, guidance on selecting the appropriate tools, instrumentation quality control, best practices, and facility management. With a packed agenda over just three days, full attendance is required, and participants must attend classes at the GIMM Oeiras campus (formerly IGC).
