This 9-day practical course is perfect for young researchers in developmental biology (graduate students, post-docs, or young PIs) who want to image 3D morphogenetic processes in vivo. Participants must submit a mini-project and are encouraged to bring their own samples, as we provide a fully equipped wet lab for maintaining embryos. Students will learn imaging techniques such as confocal, two-photon, light-sheet, and optical tomography, along with 3D image analysis using various software.

Hosted by the Advanced Imaging Facility at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciências in Oeiras, Portugal, this intense yet informal course features guest speakers and commercial partners. We are looking for 16 motivated students; the registration fee includes meals, course materials, hotel, and local transport, thanks to EMBO and our partners. EMBO also offers limited travel grants for candidates from specific countries.
