A comprehensive understanding of molecular interactions is essential for studying life processes at the molecular level. This EMBO Practical Course adopts a multidisciplinary approach, combining biochemical and biophysical methods with live-cell microscopy to analyze binding events. By integrating data from various techniques, participants will gain a more complete picture of molecular functions.
In its 5th edition, the course covers key methods like Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC), Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), switchSENSE, and Microscale Thermophoresis (MST) for characterizing binding kinetics and thermodynamics. Advanced microscopy techniques such as FRET and FLIM are also introduced to explore dynamic protein interactions in living cells.
