The new Portuguese Platform of BioImaging (PPBI) Node is a multi-sited, multimodal Node covering biological imaging.
PPBI represents the national biological microscopy imaging community of Portugal.
PPBI services focus on advanced microscopy and image data analysis for a wide range of life science domains - from cell and developmental biology, to neurosciences, oncobiology, immunology, infection, and regenerative medicine.
SPAOM is a joint effort from Red Española de Microscopía Óptica Avanzada (REMOA) and the Portuguese Platform of Biomedical Imaging (PPBI), to organize an annual congress covering new applications in optical microscopy and image analysis.
This year SPAOM21 has an exciting program with 5 plenary sessions + 5 community workshops + numerous workshops and tech bites from our commercial partners.
Topics:
- Open Microscopy, 3D/Live imaging, Super-resolution, Multiplexing/Multimodal, & Networks/communities
- 5 community workshops: Frugal bioimaging, High-throughout/screening analysis; Machine Learning in Bioimage analysis; Phototoxicity; Remote Access…)
- Several workshops by our sponsor partners: Agendo/Cirklo, Bruker, Zeiss | ILC, Izasa, Leica, Myltenyi Biotec, Olympus, Thermofisher | 3i Intelligent Imaging Innovations, PhotonLines.
Light sheet fluorescence microscopy uses a thin sheet of light to excite only fluorophores within the focal volume and orthogonal detection for high-speed 3D imaging of large, optically cleared or water-immersed live samples. This workshop intends to provide a brief introduction to light sheet microscopy and applications and is designed for cell biologists with prior experience in light microscopy that are interested in using light sheet microscopy for their research. It will consist of lectures and practical hands-on sessions in light sheet microscopes. Theoretical lectures in webinar format can be followed in person at the iMM, or via Zoom.
The workshop is open and free of charge to COLife, PPBI and external participants. There is a limit of 30 participants (priority will be given to COLife researchers).
Euro-BioImaging is organizing a second online User Forum on October 14, 2021 from 14:00-17:00 CEST.
The topic – after the success of our first User Forum – is “Understanding and Fighting Cancer.”
This event will highlight the importance of cutting-edge imaging technologies in support of cancer research and showcase the specific expertise available at our Nodes across Europe through case studies presented in tandem with the research community.
